Our new deck celebrates the great outdoors. We now have an art exhibit in our dining room that matches. All of the photographs are by local nature photographer and poet, Gloria Wagenknecht. Her passion is wildlife & birds and she has put together a show that includes brilliant red cardinals as well as fuzzy yellow goslings with their mother. It also includes thrilling images of a bald eagle returning home to the nest with dinner and soaring birds against magnificent skies.

Please stop in for lunch or dinner Tuesday through Sunday to see this fine exhibit. We especially hope you will join us for an Artist's Reception with Gloria on Saturday, June 16th from 2 to 4PM.

Mother's Day Menu

I just spent the morning carefully planning a very special, wonderful menu to help all of my dear guests honor a very special woman in their life. These delicious recipes are sure to please everyone, with delicious dishes from Italy that include chicken, steak, a variety of fresh seafood and selected vegetables from the market. Here is a preview of our Mother's Day Dinner Menu.

Zen in the Streets of New York City

We are all very thrilled with the new art exhibit in our dining room for the next month. It is entitled, "Solitude in New York City," and it includes a very unique perpective of the city so nice that they named it twice. The artist is Virgelio "Billy" Carpio and we will be very pleased to honor his work with an Artist's Reception for him on Saturday, April 7th from 2 to 4PM in our dining room. He is the talented photographer who provided the wonderful photo of our dining room to the left.

Billy has been photographing NYC since 2009. He uses HDR (high dynamic range) processing, a digital photography technique used for balancing lighting in high contrast scenes. He hopes that through his photos you will experience a unique New York City, one that is devoid of crowds save for that solitary figure in a seemingly Zen-like state. We think that We We hope We hope that you enjoy his work so much that you wish to linger longer over your meal to savor every bite.

I have been so pleased with the beauty of my Dining Room due to the vibrant colors of the pictures by our local professional photographer, Louis Jawitz. His works have added to the great atmosphere enjoyed by all of our guests so far. You can still purchase any of the pieces that you had admired by calling Lou at 212-929-0009.

I am equally delighted to announce that we will be beginning an entirely new exhibit by local Mountaindale artist, Michael McKee. He will begin hanging his work tomorrow before we open so that you may have a sneak preview if you stop in for our Friday evening Taste of Spain menu. We will be announcing the official Arist's Reception very soon.

We Are Open For Business

Greetings:

What a busy week it was for my restaurant here in Mountaindale this week. My staff worked hard making sure that everything was ready for our soft opening this past Thursday night, and the place was packed with patrons who enjoyed our offerings. Friday was busy, and then yesterday, Uccelli Restaurant was open in one of the worst October snow storms New York has seen in decades...we had fun, and it was a pleasure to see some of the locals in our downtown area come in for coffee and dessert, to watch the snow fall as we were enveloped in a winter wonderland.

This coming week we will be firing up the pizza oven and putting out our first Italian Pies. Next Sunday we will be fully open, and offering up our first Sunday brunch. We come join us. For reservations call Star (our hostess) at (845) 434-4447.

We Are Close To Soft Opening Here At Uccelli's

Greetings Foodies!

Tonight is a very exciting night for the "Uccelli Restaurant"...we officially have our domain and it is www.uccellirestaurant.com and we hope you will visit it, bookmark it and check back often as I and my staff get ever closer to opening up Uccelli Restaurant at 4 Post Road in Mountaindale. The menu is getting finalized (look for our pasta dishes on our web site later tonight or first thing in the AM) and the plan right now is to have a soft opening on October 27 (a Thursday night) with the official Grand Openning two weeks later.

Rushing To Open

Hello, Chef Robert here, and letting everyone know that our new restaurant in Mountaindale, NY is really starting to look beautiful...we are hoping to have our grand opening in mid October, so stay tuned here in our blog for further updates. In the meantime, we are working on our menu, and can tell you our 18 pasta dishes are FANTASTIC.

I am Chef Robert, and just want to say hello to everyone as I work towards the Grand Opening of Uccelli Restaurant here in Mountaindale. You can stay up to date on special events here in our blog, leave us comments and suggestions, and even share your recipes. Uccelli Restaurant is all about our customers, and it is hoped that this blog will allow all of you to feel plugged into the process, a part of all that is this adventure of bringing fine dining to the small hamlet of Mountaindale.
